We believe that active involvement of citizens is the key to the success of ICDS.

Community ownership of Anganwadis is an important objective of the ICDS Commissionerate.

Some steps taken towards this are as follows:

Anganwadi Workers have been asked to attend all Gram Sabhas and read out the salient statistics like Births and Deaths, Number of Pregnant women, Facilities given in Anganwadis etc.

Anganwadi level committees have been asked to be formed. These will have representation of mothers and also local NGOs.

Progress of involving Self Help Groups/Mahila Mandals in providing Nutrition.

Names and addresses of SHG/MM providing Nutrition, with Kitchen addresses.

Progress of setting up new Anganwadis.
